More individuals and groups have continued to condemn the Sunday’s assault on the Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Olubunmi Osadahun by a ward chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
The latest is coming from the Ondo State chapter of the League of Women Voters of Nigeria, who described the attack as barbaric.
In a statement signed by its Supervising State Coordinator, Mrs Olufunke Martins-Adetoye, the organisation said the
attack marked a worrying escalation of violence against women in the society noting that no cause can justify such brutality.
The Association which is a Non-partisan, Non-sectional, Non-religious, Non-ethnical and Non-governmental condemned in strong terms the alleged brutality and large scale gravity of violence on a harmless Woman.
The all-female organisation therefore, joined other women folk to condemn the attack and called the law enforcement agents to ensure that the attacker, a ward Chairman, Mr Olumide Awolumate is duly punished to serve as deterrent to others.
