The South West APC Support Groups have appealed to Nigerians to be more patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts to put back the nation’s economy on a strong footing.
Leaders of the groups at a meeting in Akure, the Ondo State Capital expressed absolute confidence in the ability of President Tinubu to deliver on his Renewed Hope Agenda.
The convener of the summit, Amb.(Dr.) Adewale Adeogun said “this is the time for all Nigerians regardless of their ethnoreligous or political linings to stand like one man army and support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his bid to reawake the nation’s economy from it slumber”.
As he put it, “truly, this is the most crucial time for all Nigerians to be strong and be united because, if the socioeconomic of the country is back on the rIght track, it won’t be for the Yoruba race alone, so, all hands must be on deck to salvage the country because a divided house cannot stand”.
Amb. Adeogun specifically used the forum to call on all sons and daughters of Yoruba extraction at home and abroad not to be deceived by the antics of the opposition parties trying to divide the South West through deliberate falsehood and demonic manipulations saying, the success of President Tinubu is the pride of Yoruba race.
“The summit according to him is a wake up call to all lovers of the country to come together as one indivisible entity to protect the dignity and identity of the Yorubas and the nation at large no matter where they live, work or play.”
He concluded by calling on the president to appoint members of the *Support Groups* who worked so hard for his victory in the south west in the last presidential election.
In his goodwill message, a former Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs who doubles as the Chief Host of the summit, Prince Diran Iyantan described the summit as timely and necessary, considering the level of economic hardship currently facing Nigerians.
According to him, Nigerians should not loose hope in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu because he has has the required experience, knowledge and connections to rebuild the ailing economy.
Contributing, Dr. Shola Agboola called on all the elected leaders and political appointees from local, state especially those at the national level to make the job easy for President Tinubu by keeping their constituents abreast of the plans and policies of the president from time to times.
In his words, “the opposition parties are already jiltery as they are all aware that President Tinubu will end their political careers with performances after going through his economic blue print and 2024 appropriation bill before the National Assembly.”
Welcoming the participants, the state Chairman of the Planning Committee, Nigeria Political Summit (South West) Ondo State Chapter, Olusola Adojutelegan who described President Tinubu as man of vision, strong mind and great heart needs ready hands whom the lust of office will not kill; whom the spoils of office cannot buy and men who possess workable opinions to work with.
Other members spoke with one voice the need for President Tinubu to adequately reward the Support Groups with juicy appointments not only to keep the groups together but win more souls.
The participants who came from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states.
had earlier paid a courtesy visits to the National Leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fashoranti and APC starlwart, Olumuyiwa Adu popularly known as Adu Cubana.
