…As Chancellor, he impacted our diocese greatly – Bishop Fagbemi
The Bishop, Owo Anglican Diocese, Ondo State, Ayodeji Fagbemi has described the death of the Former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a great loss to the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion.
This was contained in a condolence message signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Diocese, Banjo Abitogun.
Until his death the Late Governor Akeredolu was the Chancellor of the Diocese. Bishop Fagbemi acknowledged his significant impact on the diocese, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, justice and progress that will be remembered by its members.
He added that the diocese will always celebrate him, appreciating God for who he was and all that he stood for in the diocese.
The cleric described the late Governor of Ondo state as a devout Christian and a committed Anglican who was never ashamed to declare his faith in the crucified Lord, as a faithful soldier in obedience to his baptismal vow.
He asked Nigerians to pray for the Akeredolu family, the Diocese of Owo (Anglican Communion), and Ondo State in general.
Bishop Ayodeji Fagbemi prayed to God to grant the Diocesan Chancellor’s soul eternal rest.
“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Blessed indeed, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, for their deeds follow them.”(Rev. 14:13).
