I bring you warm greetings from the leadership of our great Alumni Association and welcome you to the new year 2024
As we welcome ourselves to the new year, it is essential to thank God for for sparing our lives and family members Worldwide.
I also use this medium to appreciate members who have contributed in no small measure to the advancement of EKSU Alumni Association, may God continue to replenish and provide for you more abundantly.
Let me categorically commend the efforts of the Board of Trustees, BOT for the advisory roles and support over the years.
The leadership in addition, appreciate the Eminent Persons Group, EPG for the unrelenting effort towards advancement of our association.
The appreciation will not be completed without mentioning our Patron, the Visitor to Ekiti State University, EKSU, Ado-Ekiti, Grand Patron Alumni Association and the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, H.E Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, BAO for his exemplary love for the Alumni Association being one of us, Sir, we are very grateful and thankful for what you have done for our members in terms of appointments and what you still have in the offing for us and the University community.
It will be out of order not to appreciate our Patron, Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, MOB for his unprecedented support to the Alumni Association.
The Alumni Association under my watch also appreciate the Management of the institution under the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Edward Olanipekun, the Governing Council, led by its Chairman, Emeritus Prof Akin Oyebode and all the Unions in the university.
Appreciation also goes to all the chapters Chairmen and members of all existing chapters
The leadership also recognized the efficiency of the Alumni Association’s office staff.
We have commenced the promising Year 2024, it is pertinent to highlight some of the achievements in the outgone year 2023.
The Alumni Association in the outgone year was able to do the following:
* Endowment fund of over N8m for outstanding students of our Alma Mata
* 50-Room Medical Village hostels
* Upgrade of Alumni Village (near completion). The Project now include an Inside Reception/ Restaurant for lodgers, Gate/ Generator house, Event/ Restaurant hall, Bush Bars and Public Toilet Building.
* Facilitation of extension of Independent Power Project, IPP to the University Community (Governor Oyebanji)
* Dualisation of EKSU road-Ifaki-Ekiti (Governor Oyebanji)
* Construction of link road of the Alumni Village with the College of Medicine in the main campus (work in progress)
* Facilitation of a 200 seat capacity lecture hall along the new Alumni Village/ College of Medicine Road
* Establishment of more Chapter to include Canada Chapter, Edo Chapter and Delta Chapter (underway)
* Setting up digital central to fast track process of Transcripts
* Rebranding the image of our Alumni Association Worldwide that gave us the rating among the best 15 Alumni Associations in Nigeria among others.
We are in the new year 2024. The leadership of the Alumni Association Worldwide with support from members will do more to make us match international standards.
The leadership welcomes more ideas and suggestions that can further improve the networking of members
We solicit more support and contributions as we advance our Alumni Association Worldwide.
I heartily thank the Global Executive Council members for their dedication and commitment.
