The Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University, Professor Kayode Ijadunola has said the institution will continue to equip students with appropriate skills and knowledge for the development of the country and global competitiveness
He also asked Nigerian students to adopt the Asian Tiger Countries model of academic acquisition driven by Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics which repositioned the Asian Tiger Countries to rule the world.
Prof. Ijadunola gave the charge at the matriculation ceremony for 532 new students of the University.
He congratulated the fresh students on their admission to Elizade University which he described as a leading technology-driven Institution with digitalised services and unfettered internet access for both staff and students.
The VC added that the vison of the University is to be a globally competitive Institution that produces entrepreneurial, innovative and ethically sound graduates.
He explained that the serene campus environment of the University compares favourably to what obtains in the Ivy League schools across the world and is intentionally positioned to support meaningful scholarship and research among staff and students.
The University administrator who charged students to be goal-driven and result-oriented asked the fresh students to face their studies and shun social media indulgence, get-rich-quick syndrome and other vices that could derail them.
Parents and students expressed delight at what they described as outstanding infrastructures, as well as the aesthetic, conducive teaching and learning environment in Elizade University.
Established in 2012 by Chief Michael Ade Ojo, founder of Elizade Motors; the University with 5 Faculties, currently runs 34 undergraduate and 20 Post-Graduate programmes that are fully accredited by the National University Commission.
The current Vice-Chancellor, Kayode Thadius Ijadunola, a one-time Provost of College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, and a Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine said classrooms in Elizade University are equipped with modern multimedia teaching aids which facilitate teaching and learning via the i-learn Learning Management System where lecturers upload their lecture materials well ahead of class for the students.
