OSCOTECH Crisis: Diran Odeyemi In The Dark Alley of Negativity

It riles a good sense that a certain Kehinde Ojo, most certainly a bot, could pen an outrageous nonsense, full of illogicality, shameless write up and try to circulate such, concerning the unfortunate crisis, deliberately engineered by the chairman of the Governing Council of the Osun state college of Technology, Esa Oke, Mr Diran Odeyemi that engulfed the ancient town of Esa Oke kingdom on Monday February 5, 2024.

The Diran Odeyemi, it must be noted here, was the notorious rabble- rouser publicity secretary of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) and an attack dog of late Chief Adebayo Alao Akala as the Executive Governor of Oyo state.

His appointment as the chairman of the Governing Council of the Osun state college of Technology, Esa Oke was shocking and only accepted with a pinch of the salt, taking into cognizance his riotous and carcinogenic antecedents while operating both in the media and in the political spaces. He was never known to be an orderly person, capable of building blocks.

Now back to the fictitious Kehinde Ojo who claimed to have come from Idofin area of Esa Oke. Reading through his literarily disjointed epistle ‘ he apparently laboured , albeit vainly, to justify Diran Odeyemi’s interview on a local FM radio channel . The question for him is how well does he know Esa Oke and the issues around the College of Technology, both social and economic? To him, the protest is allegedly being ignited by ‘a failed APC contestant into the National Assembly from this axis’!

This is the worst insult that can be heaped on the youths of Esa Oke. Let Diran Odeyemi know now that the Esa youths were never incited, instigated or prompted by anyone ,whether failed or successful aspirant, to defend their town, their heritage.

What they did on Monday February 5, 2024 was a spontaneous reaction to Diran Odeyemi’s insensitive, careless maladministration and mismanagement of the Osun state college of Technology, Esa Oke. If this Kehinde Ojo is truly and certainly Idofin Esa Oke born, he would have known that the people of Esa Oke are most rational, intelligent and considerate people who only react when pushed to the wall as was done by Diran Odeyemi on February 5.

Diran Odeyemi was the architect of the mischief that nearly snowballed into a bloody conflagration in Esa Oke on that fateful Monday. His claims in his interview with the Unique FM radio was clearly antithetical with the press statements issued by both the Hon Commissioner for Education and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the state. While both the Commissioner distanced themselves and the state from the bellicosity of Diran Odeyemi during his early morning interview….an act which further riled the protesting youths and exacerbated the conflagration—both the Governor and the Hon Commissioner were humane and reconciliatory in their remarks.

This shows glaringly that Diran Odeyemi was the agent provocateur in the conflict and that there is a clear nexus between his radio interview and the Kehinde Ojo’s half- baked write up in the Nation . One is convinced that at both end of the double-edged knife is Diran Odeyemi. If anyone is in doubt of this assertion, let him fish out the Kehinde Ojo from Idofin area of Esa Oke!

It should be noted however, that Diran Odeyemi is from Ibokun town, a community less than ten kilometres from Esa oke. That he is now waging a proxy press war against Esa Oke is what baffles many right thinking observers. While the College was sited in Esa-Oke, Ibokun, undeservedly, was compensated with the headquarters of Obokun Local Government area.

Ibokun, in all social- demographic and political ramifications, does not come near Esa Oke, yet was allotted the local government headquarters. Esa Oke battled no eyelids in this. But the treachery and perfidy that has been noted from history as almost a second nature to many Ibokun elites would not allow Diran Odeyemi to reason rightly, other than the blind insanity to build his Ibokun by pulling down Esa Oke.

This ,the youths rightly saw through and took immediate proactive steps to nip it in the bud. After the failure of this initial bid, Diran Odeyemi has since embarked on social media frenzy, making wild and spurious claims about the institution and his weird dreams of relocation of some courses to his homestead, Ibokun.

We challenge Diran Odeyemi to lift this veil of nebulosity and come to the open to fight Esa Oke. He needs no bot in any faceless and nebulous Kehinde Ojo to promote his shenanigans. We can well assure him that we are more than ready for him.

If His Excellency does not know the character he has appointed to administer a highly prestigious educational institution like the Osun state college of Technology, Esa Oke some of us know him so well. A no-good doer, a rabble rouser and disruptive element. It is unfortunate that a low level integrity and intellect individual like him has been allowed to manage such a scholarly power house like the Osun state college of Technology, Esa Oke

Now that the Governor, for whatever reasons, and in his wisdom, has appointed him, and now that he has also messed up the seat less than seven months into his appointment, what remains is for the governor to look to correct the error he innocently made in June 2023 and remove him without further delay.

Governor Adeleke has apparently promoted Odeyemi beyond his intellectual and administrative capabilities. His resort to a tactless bot writings to deceive the populace is a clear testimony to this. He is bereft of any progressive idea to move the institution forward. Therefore, he should be ejected from the Board before he caused more damage.
