Ondo APC primary: NUJ alerts security agencies about influx of fake journalists

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State Council has raised the alarm over the influx of some unaccredited and fake journalists into the state for the APC governorship primaries on Saturday.

To this end, the Union hs therefore alerted security operatives and political class to be wary and to clarify status of such quacks in the media industry with the leadership of Ondo NUJ on (07042285702) or its Taskforce against Fake Journalists on (08028297337).

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the chairman, Leke Adegbite and the Secretary, Olaoluwa Meshack on Friday

NUJ urged professional journalists coming from outside Ondo State to cover the party primaries to ensure proper accreditation and cleared by the NUJ to avoid unnecessary embarrassment on the field.

“Our NUJ Taskforce is already on the field to work with security agents to prevent these fake journalists from carrying fake news that can set the State on fire.

Ondo NUJ appeals to all Governorship Aspirants from the major political parties to play the game according to the rules, and place the interest of the state above personal interest”, the statement read in part.
