Fuel scarcity: Ondo Government warns petrol marketers against hoarding

The Ondo State government has warned owners of petrol stations across the state against hoarding the product to create artificial scarcity.

This warning comes as scarcity of the product is taking toll on residents and commercial activities in the state and the country in general.

The Commissioner for Information and  Orientation, Wale Akinlosotu stated this while featuring on a live programme, “Oro to nlo” on Fresh FM Akure on Thursday.

He said Governor Aiyedatiwa has directed the Taskforce on Petroleum Price Monitoring to warn marketers in that regard.

The commissioner pleaded for patience on the part of citizens and residents of the state, saying that the Aiyedatiwa-led administration will not tolerate acts of indiscipline.

He then tasked marketers to be empathetic in their pricing of petroleum products, reminding them of the already harsh economic situation on members of the public.

While assuring citizens of better days ahead, Mr Akinlosotu noted that despite the current electioneering period, governance will not suffer.

He urged media outfits to collaborate with his ministry and the state government for the betterment of society and to enhance peace and good governance in the state.
