Ondo Government announces death of SSG Tayo Oluwatuyi


The Government of Ondo State has announced the death of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Temitayo Oluwatuyi.

According to a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Wale Akinlosotu, Oluwatuyi passed away on January 4, 2025, following injuries sustained in a car accident on December 15, 2024.

The tragic accident occurred while the SSG was traveling to Ibadan. Despite being hospitalized for several weeks, he succumbed to his injuries.

Described as a dedicated public servant,  Oluwatuyi made notable contributions to the governance and development of Ondo State. He played a pivotal role in administrative coordination and policy implementation, working closely with the governor and other key officials.

In his illustrious career, Oluwatuyi held various positions, including Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner and two-time Secretary to the State Government. According to the statement, his commitment to public service and the progress of Ondo State will be remembered fondly.

The government extended its condolences to his family, friends and associates, while promising to release details of his memorial arrangements in due course.

Hon. Oluwatuyi hailed from Akure and was widely respected for his service and dedication.
