2027: Aiyedatiwa pledges Ondo Government, people’s support for Tinubu’s re-election

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has pledged strong support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He gave assurance that the people and government of Ondo State would give their full backing ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Governor made this known during a courtesy visit by the state, local government, and ward coordinators of The Lucky Guy (TLG), a political mobilisation group working under the AsiwajuDatiwa platform to galvanise grassroots support for President Tinubu’s second term.

He commended President Tinubu’s economic reforms, which, according to him, have improved fiscal stability in the country and enabled states to execute capital projects without relying on borrowing or struggling to pay salaries.

He added that the Renewed Hope administration has significantly enhanced federal support for Ondo State through infrastructural developments and political appointments.

Aiyedatiwa mention ongoing federal projects in the state to include dualisation of the Ore-Ondo-Akure Road and the establishment of the Federal University of Technology Teaching Hospital, to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and key aviation projects, the federal government has demonstrated commitment to our development,” he said.

Governor Aiyedatiwa recalled that Ondo State delivered one of the highest vote percentages for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, recording 69% of the total votes. He declared that the state is determined to surpass that achievement in the 2027 polls.

While commending TLG for its organisational capacity and youthful energy, the Governor urged members to remain committed to the ideals of integrity, loyalty, and truthful public engagement.

He also encouraged them to intensify their grassroots mobilisation efforts by promoting the All Progressives Congress (APC) and expanding party membership across the state.

Earlier, the Convener of TLG, Hon. MoyinOlorun Ogunwumiju, stated that the group was established to promote Governor Aiyedatiwa’s political ideals and to support President Tinubu’s re-election campaign across the 18 local government areas of the state.

Also speaking, the group’s Director of Mobilisation, Hon. Muritala Suleiman, noted that TLG was formed as a platform for politically inclined youths loyal to the Governor but lacking a political base. He highlighted the group’s contributions during previous campaigns and appealed for more youth inclusion in government appointments.

Present at the event were the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, and the Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ololade Gbegudu, among other dignitaries.
