The Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda has received a significant boost to its infrastructure, thanks to the intervention of Honourable Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu, a member of the House of Representatives representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency and an alumnus of the institution.
Dr. Zannan Bungudu recently completed and handed over five solar-powered boreholes to the Polytechnic, a development that addresses the institution’s longstanding challenge of water scarcity.
The facilities were formally presented to the management of the Polytechnic in a brief handover ceremony where the lawmaker was represented by Aminu Lawal Bungudu.
This gesture follows a courtesy visit paid to the legislator by the new management of the Polytechnic, led by the Rector, Dr. Aminu Yusuf Kaura Namoda, during which the community’s concerns were presented. Responding to these concerns, Zannan Bungudu pledged to support the institution, beginning with efforts to improve access to clean water.
The donation has been commended as a timely intervention, with the management acknowledging its positive implications for both staff and students.
The Polytechnic had grappled with irregular water supply, a situation that hindered learning, research, and day-to-day operations. With this contribution, a major infrastructural gap has now been bridged.
Beyond the provision of water, Zannan Bungudu has also extended other forms of support to the institution. These include the sponsorship of 50 indigent students from his constituency and the commissioning of an Artificial Intelligence library aimed at promoting innovation and enhancing academic research within the Polytechnic.
A proud member of the institution’s CPA Class of 1997, the lawmaker’s commitment to the growth and development of his alma mater has been widely acknowledged as exemplary.
