The National Vice Chairman (Northeast) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mustapha Salihu, has commenced the disbursement of funds under his youth empowerment initiative in Adamawa State.
In line with his pledge, the first set of beneficiaries each received ₦1 million, while additional recipients were supported with ₦500,000 in his Rumde Ward constituency, Jimeta.
Those who received ₦1 million include Khaleel Sajoh (Yola South), Anas Bala (Yola North), Hingino Bedan (Girei), Magdalene David (Michika), Faisal Mohammed Usman (Fufore) and Isa Garba (Mayo Belwa).
In Rumde Ward, the beneficiaries of the ₦500,000 support were Safiyanu Adamu, Ibrahim Haruna, Umar Lawan, Ishiyaku Aliyu, Aisha Mohammed and Abdullahi Ahmed.
According to Comrade Salihu, the initiative is designed to provide financial assistance to hardworking young people across Adamawa State.
He explained that the first phase of the scheme was completed in September, while the second phase, set for October, will extend to ten more beneficiaries, with future phases expected to reach even more people.
Speaking during the unveiling, the APC Zonal Vice Chairman stressed that the project goes beyond monetary support.
He said the initiative is not just about financial support; it is about investing in the future, building loyalty, and giving our young people the tools they need to succeed. The APC believes in rewarding commitment and nurturing the next generation of leaders.
The programme has received praise from community leaders, party stakeholders, and youth organisations, who described it as a timely intervention.
They noted that the scheme could reduce unemployment, promote entrepreneurship, strengthen unity and consolidate APC structures at the grassroots.
Observers also said the initiative reflects Comrade Salihu’s longstanding commitment to youth development and social impact, while setting a potential model for political leadership engagement across Nigeria.
Highlights of the event included a leadership training session for APC amalgamated youths drawn from various organisations in the state.
