Akinrinola Olokunboro Foundation distributes educational materials to 1,300 pupils in Akure South and North LGAs

No fewer than 1,350 pupils across primary schools in Akure South and Akure North local government areas of Ondo State have benefited from the distribution of educational materials by the Akinrinlola Olokunboro Foundation.

The exercise, which covered schools in Akure, Ogbese, Iju and Itaogbolu, was part of the foundation’s efforts to support children’s education and reduce the financial burden on parents.

Pupils received books and other learning materials to improve classroom engagement and lay a solid foundation for future learning.

One of the benefitting schools is St. James’ Primary School, Oda. The Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Temilade Akinfe, described the initiative as a bold step towards addressing challenges in the education sector.

While commending Akinrinola Olokunboro Foundation for giving back to the society, she noted that the support would reduce the burden on parents and motivate pupils to take greater interest in their studies.

Pupils of St. Williams RCM Primary School, Oda, were also beneficiaries where the Head Teacher, Mrs. Oluremi Ogunleye lauded the foundation.

According to her, ‘education is the bedrock of greatness, and children are the future leaders of the nation. This initiative has laid a foundation of greatness in their lives and will attract more children to learning.”

Giving insight into the educational materials distribution, the Project Manager of the foundation, Barrister Oluwatoba Olaifa, explained that the distribution was part of the organisation’s educational policy implementation.

She said the initiative was informed by the discovery that many pupils lacked access to basic learning materials due to economic challenges faced by their parents.

She noted that children who are future leaders, must not be deprived of quality education, adding that their learning process should be made comfortable. “This is why the foundation is committed to continuous support,” Olaifa added.

The team also visited St. Finbarr’s Primary School, Akure and several others, where the materials were distributed.

According to the foundation, the intervention will be sustained through continued partnership with schools in order to advance learning and promote a stronger educational system in the state.
