The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has resigned from the cabinet of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his resignation letter addressed to the President, Nnaji expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation, noting that he had become a target of blackmail by political opponents.
President Tinubu, who appointed Nnaji in August 2023, has accepted his resignation.
In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy), the President thanked the former minister for his service to the country and wished him well in his future endeavours.
