50th Remembrance: We cannot forget the good virtues and values instill in us by our father – Otunba Omodara

The children, family and friends of former Commissioner for Transport, Otunba Omoniyi Omodara gathered at St. John’s Anglican Church Oba-Ile to celebrate the 50th memorial service of their late father, Pa, Ezekiel Omodara Akogun.

It was a day of long speeches as the immediate children of Pa. Omodara Akogun extolled the virtues and legacies of their father.

According to Mrs. Funke Akintide, Pa Omodara Akogun unwavering support, discipline and guardiance shaped their early lives

Also speaking, Otunba Omoniyi Omodara said the legacies and life lessons their father taught them will for ever remain their guarding principles.

As he put it, “his strength, wisdom and kindness inspired them to be strong, resilient and compassionate in life”.

Contributing, a seasoned administrator and unionist, Comrade Victor Omodara said although, he lost his father very early in life but his spirit of discipline, objectivity and hard work impacted him to productive today.

Preaching at the memorial service, Rev. Joshua Adeleke of St. John’s Anglican Church, Oba-Ile called on the congregation to be good ambassadors of Christ in their daily conduct.

According to the clergy, christians must use their talents for the development of others and glory of God.

Highlight of the occasion was the dedication of Abiodun Omodara as life member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Oba-Ile.

Pa. Ezekiel Omodara Akogun who died on 7th October, 1975 was survived by many children, grand children and great grand children.
