Ondo North Progressive Like Minds for Good Governance condemns dismissed Amotekun officer over remarks against Commandant Adeleye

The Ondo North Progressive Like Minds for Good Governance has condemned what it called unguarded statements and defamatory actions by a dismissed member of the Ondo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps, Mr. Julius Ekujuni, against the Commander of the Corps, Adetunji Adeleye.

The group described Ekujuni’s conduct as not only reckless and malicious but also an act capable of breeding disunity, mistrust, and unnecessary tension within the security architecture of the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the group noted that the Commander has demonstrated professionalism, discipline, and commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state, thereby upholding the noble objectives of the Amotekun Corps as envisioned by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration.

The group further emphasized that attempts by disgruntled elements to malign the image of the Corps’ leadership are mischievous and should be disregarded by the general public.

The Ondo North Progressive Like Minds for Good Governance maintained that Julius Ekujuni’s dismissal was a consequence of his unwholesome behaviours, indiscipline, and insubordination, which are inimical to the operational ethics of a security outfit.

“It is, therefore, unacceptable for a dismissed officer to embark on a campaign of calumny aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the institution that once gave him the platform to serve”, the statement read in part.

The group called on all peace-loving citizens, particularly within Ondo North Senatorial District and the state at large, to remain united and supportive of the Commander and the Amotekun Corps in their patriotic duty of safeguarding the state.

It further warned that actions such as those exhibited by Mr. Ekujuni are detrimental to the collective interest of Ondo State and will not be tolerated.
