2027: Wumi Oladeji urges Oyo APC members to unite for Tinubu’s re-election

The Director of Public Affairs and Family Assistance at the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Hon. Bimbo Olawumi Oladeji, has called on leaders, stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State to remain united and mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election.

Oladeji described the move as a collective responsibility critical to the political future of Oyo State and the wider South-West region.

She made the call while speaking with journalists during the APC Unity Rally organised by the party in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, which was held across all 14 federal constituencies in Oyo State.

The former lawmaker, who represented Ogbomoso North State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly between 2015 and 2023, said President Tinubu’s administration has exceeded the expectations of many Nigerians, particularly in economic management.

According to her, recent reductions in the prices of food items and Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), as well as relative stability in the naira, are clear indicators of the positive impact of the President’s economic policies.

She also pointed to improvements in national security, ongoing efforts to address insurgency, and improved collaboration among the three arms of government as signs that the country is on a steady path to recovery.

Oladeji further noted that the 2026 budgetary projections reflect a future of improved socio-economic conditions for Nigerians, urging citizens to remain supportive and patient.

Commending APC stakeholders in Oyo State, she praised the party’s renewed internal cohesion, describing it as a strategic step towards electoral success in future contests.

“The unity we are witnessing today positions the APC for greater victories. With reconciliation and collective resolve, the party is well placed to secure all elective positions in the next general election,” she said.

Recalling the party’s performance in the 2023 elections, Oladeji said the APC delivered Oyo State for President Tinubu, won all three senatorial seats and secured nine out of the 14 House of Representatives positions in the state.

She stressed that the focus must now be on translating political support into votes in 2027, adding that Oyo State should deliver results that reflect its political relevance and population strength.

The NSIB director also urged eligible voters to take advantage of ongoing voter registration by visiting Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices and registration areas to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, describing the PVC as the most vital instrument for democratic participation.

Oladeji expressed appreciation to APC leaders in the state, the state executive council led by Chairman Alhaji Olayide Abas, members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, past and present legislators, political appointees and party members across Oyo State, particularly those from the Ogbomoso zone, for ensuring a peaceful and successful rally.
