Excitement as FUTA VC joins fresh students for photographs after matriculation

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Professor Adenike Oladiji, brought cheer to newly admitted students on Thursday, January 22, 2025, following the matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Professor Oladiji was walking past the venue shortly after the formal ceremony when she encountered a group of fresh students taking photographs to commemorate their admission into the university.

In a spontaneous and warm gesture, the Vice Chancellor joined the students for photographs, a moment that drew excitement and admiration from the new undergraduates.

The students, who had only minutes earlier been formally admitted into FUTA by the Vice Chancellor, expressed visible delight at the rare opportunity to interact closely with the university’s chief academic officer.

The moment added a memorable and human touch to the matriculation ceremony and demonstrated the university’s commitment to a welcoming and student-centred academic environment.
