Association for the Promotion of Community Health for Women and Girls Rights ( APROCH-GW), Oyo State has paid an advocacy visits to the Oyo state government in a bid to lend their voices on the need to protect women and girls health in the state.
Speaking at a strategic meeting with members of the team led by Dr. Bolanle Omidiji, the state coordinator said the advocacy became necessary as cases of violation of women and children continues to spring up, violation of women and children rights in the state are being trampled upon.
Mrs Omidiji said that the society needs to support women more and give the best to the girls who will be mother’s that will nurture the upcoming generation.
She added that the strategic meeting is to prepare the association towards the planned advocacy meeting to relevant stakeholder who are expected to contribute meaningfully to the development and protection of women and girls.
On his part, the Director of Women, Mr Ogunjimi Diya said that government will continue to support the effort being made by individuals, NGOs and eminent Nigerians who are committed to the course of women and girls development.
Also the Permanent secretary of the ministry of Health, Dr. Ayinde A. E while receiving the team from APROCH-GW, assured the association of the state government determination to continually protect women and girls across Oyo State.
The association further expressed appreciation to the two state ministries for their commitment and support in promoting women and girls right.
